Hello everyone! As we begin the process for revising the CenteringParenting materials, I welcome your feedback.
Our intention is to transition CenteringParenting to align with the AAP and Bright Futures well-child visit schedule through 24 months. From our initial survey of current sites we heard requests for additional activities and resources related to mom's well-being, vaccinations, attachment and developmentally appropriate play & activities with baby. If you are currently engaged in CenteringParenting groups at your practice site, hearing your successes and challenges will enable us to better support you with this revision.
Specifically, what content in the CenteringParenting Notebook and Facilitators' Guide have you found to be most helpful? What components of well-woman care do you include? How are moms using the notebooks? Barriers? What additional parenting/child content, tools or types of activities would you like to see?
Many thanks in advance for your ideas and suggestions!
Marena

Hi Samantha,
We anticipate the new CenteringParenting materials will be available in early 2016.
Some of the proposed changes include:
Extended care (0-24 month well-child visits), aligned with AAP Periodicity Schedule and Bright Futures Anticipatory Guidance
Suggested discussion topics and engaging activities to address: Safe to Sleep, Immunizations, Development, Temperament, Oral Health and Positive Parenting
Focus on language development, milestones, feeding and sleep each session
Safety issues, including car seat, baby proofing, creating an eco-friendly home, travel, domestic violence, child abuse and toxic stress Well-woman care that explores mindfulness exercises, wellness and self-care, interconception health, breastfeeding goals, and healthy relationships
Please let us know if you need any further information.
warmly, Marena

Thank you Marena! Any information you could give me would be appreciated. I was assigned to check into this and another program to compare for our hospital.
