Another wonderful CenteringPregnancy story from one of our Centering military families. Ashli is an active duty Hospital Corpsman stationed at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune and the proud Mother of adorable Noah (those cheeks!). Below, Ashli describes her CenteringPregnancy experience: Going into this pregnancy I was terrified and uneasy about the entire thing. I was able to go through this pregnancy with a little less weight on my shoulders because I had that extra support and time with health care providers that I was not given before. My experience with this pregnancy was 10X better than my last. The Centering group started off slow and took some time to get the hang of but it was an experience I would gladly be a part of again. I learned a lot of new information, from things that I could expect during my pregnancy to what to do after postpartum. The program coordinator and the Midwife assigned to our group were very knowledgeable and most of all caring to each and every one of us. They were there for me from the beginning and even until now 6 months postpartum. My anxiety and fears were minimized because I was able to hear my baby’s heart beat at every session and I got to address all of my concerns with my Midwife. I enjoyed my experience and I am so glad the opportunity is offered here at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune.
