I am interested in Centering because: I want to make a difference in someones life for the better and help educate them about the better way of healthcare. I am passionate about what I do with our Centering Program at Kaiser Permanente. I love the lifelong friendships that I build while going thru the journey of pregnancy for all of my patients. I love the personal care that patients receive and I love to keep our groups fun and current. Coming up on being accredited for a year in Jan 2018 and we have grown so much. Already starting 2 groups a month starting Dec 2017, beat our goal to start 2 by a month. #MicDrop

This is an article in the Kaiser Permanente November 2017 from my Centering patients if you are unable to read it I can zoom it, this is Katie Finnie and Cory Cranston, Cory is featured in Centering Healthcare Institute, Fathers Day Campaign. Found out they were having TWINS at their 20 wk ultrasound . Needless to say they loved Centering so much they really didn't want to stop coming so they stayed and also did in clinic appts with our docs since they were considered "high risk" at this point. The most adorable couple I have ever met and love them. They are our biggest advocates. nlewis this is for you girl!

And this calls out a big difference between Centering and SMAs:
"Shared medical appointments are becoming more common as a way to cut costs and improve efficiency. "

SaveSaveI really love the part where they said that the RELATIONSHIP myself and Karen (midwife) was invaluable. The rest of the group too but to work in the medical field and to be able to build that kind of bond and to experience everything we experience together for those 10 sessions, is priceless. I mean we all start off as strangers in Session 1 and by Session 9, we don't want to leave each other and cry when we pull the yard out. I love that about my job. It is so rewarding.
