CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Just in time for Mother's Day, a new trend in pregnancy care is getting rave reviews for helping to save babies lives. A team of health care providers at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center launched the program to lower infant mortality rates, which are higher in Hamilton County than other parts of the country. They've been tracking numbers and so far they have seen what national research also showed. It works to provide care that puts mom and baby in the "center" of it all. Donae Boynton is just a heartbeat away from delivering what's expected to be a healthy baby girl. She said, "It's amazing, I have a life growing inside of me. I love it." She also loves the way she's been getting prenatal care in the joyful journey. That's done through one of the hottest trends in women's health care called "centering." Debora Dole, a nurse and midwife, said, "We know it works. We are not exactly sure how it works." Read more at local12.com/health/health-updates/prenatal-care-centered-around-mom-babyAttachments:
