Follow-up items from Sept. meeting
• Ohio Centering rack card approved and being printed, will be distributed by March of Dimes. More to come on the distribution plan.
CenteringCounts online community
• Headcount for a local Advanced Facilitation workshop thread here: centeringconnects.org/thread/211/interest-advanced-facilitation-workshop-2016 - please indicate if you practice has facilitators that are ready for advanced training
• 2016 in-person meeting discussion: centeringconnects.org/thread/167/person-2016
We discussed the possibility of holding the in-person meeting and advanced training together over a two day period. Best days are Thur/Fri or Tue/Wed, not on the northeast side of Columbus, if May or June watch for busy graduation weeks.
Enhanced reimbursement
Summa (Michelle McCarroll) requested amendments to section 5164.01 of a bill supported by Representatives Emilia Sykes and Greta Johnson to provide enhanced payment for Medicaid-covered women in CenteringPregnancy and CenteringParenting. Michelle identified the need to broaden criteria for eligible women to include not only drug-addicted women and include the interconception period. Michelle will let us know if there is an opportunity for other organizations to "sign on" or otherwise voice support for the bill.
Centering should be seen as "one stop shopping" for all investments in improving MCH care and reducing infant mortality, rather than another program competing for funding with other similar mission organizations (i.e. the Toledo hub model).
