Hello all! I'm Katie, a fourth year medical student at Jefferson in Philadelphia, PA. I'm working with Dr. Karen Wang at the Reading Health System to develop a method for evaluating outcomes of CenteringParenting patients compared to those receiving traditional well-child care. Our goal is to capture our quantitative data (breastfeeding rates, completion of recommended vaccines, completion of maternal depression screening, etc.) through retrospective chart review, and qualitative data (satisfaction with CenteringParenting) through questionnaires distributed to Centering families. We wanted to reach out to see if anyone has done anything similar, or had any ideas to share. Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Hi Katie,
I know that Einstein in Philly is planning some CenteringParenting research. If you don't connect here, let me know if you'd like an introduction.

Hi Katie,
Do you already have the CenteringParenting evaluation tools that we currently use? If not please let me know and I will send those to you. My email is tmunroe@centeringhealthcare.org
There is also a project afoot at Univ. of Cincinnati - I am hoping Colleen Senterfitt our COO will add info to this thread.
Also Misae Vela Brol and Kathy Trotter (Centering Consultants) have been collecting data from CenteringParenting sites for a paper, I hope they will chime in as well!

Thank you Molly and Tanya! I will try to reach out to Einstein to learn more about what they are doing. Tanya, I'd love to see those evaluation tools already in use for CenteringParenting, I will email you. Many thanks!
