I don't know the codes off the top of head because I am still getting used to ICD10, but it is Normal pregnancy. And you can delineate for the first, second and third trimester. You can also delineate multigravida and primipara.

Coding for Centering is the same as coding for individual visits unless enhanced coding is approved in your state and has been adopted by the specific payer, or included in a managed care contract. Additionally, the coding varies as some systems have a global contract with the payers and some bill by encounter. The diagnosis codes for Pregnancy are used - V220 or V221. The E&M codes are based on the intensity of the moms served, and they are 99211, 99212, 99213, 99214 or 99215 . When these are used, we have to remember that we are coding for intensity not time. Hope this helps?

Just did some research on this for a CIP site. And here is what I found. ICD-10 I would assume it would be this type of coding for ICD-10
• 009.91 High Risk Pregnancy in 1st trimester
• 009.92 High Risk Pregnancy in 2nd trimester
• 009.93 High Risk Pregnancy in 3rd trimester
• Z34.81 Supervision of Normal pregnancy in 1st trimester
• Z34.82 Supervision of Normal pregnancy in 2nd
• Z34.83 Supervision of Normal pregnancy in 3rd trimester
• Or any variation …
As mention before, it is just your normal diagnostic codes for pregnancy.
CPT code 99211, 99212, 99213 (what I use the most for Centering) , 99214, 99215
If your state has enhanced reimbursement for Centering groups care, you will have to check with the powers-that-be in the state to make sure you are coding right.
