Has anyone at a Rural Health Center had success (or challenges) in getting reimbursed at the RHC rate for CenteringPregnancy care? We have heard from a practice that is getting a lot of resistance for group prenatal care reimbursement.
The Medicare Benefit Policy Manual Chapter 13 - Rural Health Clinic (RHC) and Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Services section 60.1 specifically excludes Group Services including "group or mass information programs, health education classes, or group education activities, including media productions and publications." This appears to be a revision that was added in January of 2016. I have attached the relevant document below.
